About Us

A History of Excellence

Our team at Bexson Construction is dedicated and fully involved from the start to completion of all the buildings we do. Our concept of building is to keep a balance between architecture along with the realization of real-life function standards that will ensure the building has a lifespan beyond the years of the project.

Bexson Construction was first established in Lloydminster in 1992, now with 30+ years of construction experience, through hard work, passion and integrity we have continued to grow! We stand as a premier leader in full-service construction management and general contracting, specializing in commercial buildings. Founded on the principles of uncompromising quality and transparent communication, we have evolved from a family-owned operation into a powerhouse responsible for defining the infrastructure of our communities. Our company has expanded to include (and not limited to):

      • In-house designers
      • Project designers
      • Architectural technologist
      • Steel erection crew
      • In-house Millwork shop
      • And of course some of the finest carpenters in Western Canada.

Our services include and are not limited to pre-construction and design build where we collaboratively plan to align vision with budgets. General contracting where we manage all on-site trades, schedules and procurement. Renovations where we modernize existing structures to extend the lifespan of current structures. We proudly serve Lloydminster and its surrounding areas. Our work supports local business owners and developers, contributing to the growth and revitalization of our local infrastructure.

One of the main roles of a general contractor is communication and controlling all aspects of the project from pre-construction to final completion. We promote the involvement of the entire crew with face-to-face communication where the team talks and understands the expectations. Should there be any issues; by working together we can resolve them efficiently and effectively. Bexson prioritizes team collaboration and building trust through transparent and frequent communication. We seek to understand and align the project vision, expectations and specific success criteria of the project team, and share these performance goals with the entire team including trade contractors and suppliers.

Safety First

Bexson is known as an industry leader in health, safety, and environmental performance. We know the importance of ensuring that each worker can return home to their families at the end of their workday, and we are committed to making this happen every day.  Safety is a key pillar to success, alongside cost, schedule, and quality performance.

In 1998, we earned our  Certificate of Recognition (COR) through Alberta Construction Safety Association. To retain this high standard, we undergo an annual audit set by the Association. In meeting the standards set by a portion of our clients, we also subscribe to ISNetworld®.

Cody Bexson (partner at Bexson Construction) holds a position on the board of directors for Alberta Construction Safety Association. In addition, we have Greg Hutchinson, designated as National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) to ensure that all staff when hired have adequate policies, procedures, equipment, competencies, and information to preform their work properly with safety being key.  Safety training occurs at every level, this not only helps to ensure safe worksites, but allows Bexson to partake in the COR rebate plan. All incidents including near misses must be reported, investigated, and documented immediately.

In recognition of our accomplishments in the industry, the Alberta Construction Safety Association has awarded Bexson with the “Trail Blazer” award. The Trailblazer Award recognizes organizations that demonstrate their commitment to enhancing workplace safety and their dedication in promoting health and safety within the communities they serve. This award is a testament to our ongoing dedication and the contributions all of us make in enhancing safety and health within the workplace.

Bexson has also been awarded the “Pace Setter” award for our commitment to safe worksites. The Pacesetter Award recognizes safety professionals for their outstanding service to their Regional Safety Committees (RSCs), and for their commitment to and leadership in promoting health and safety within their communities.

Today’s Bexson

Bexson operates with an average number of 35+ employees. We are a premier construction and project management firm dedicated to building the foundations of tomorrow. Our mission is to deliver superior craftsmanship and innovative building solutions while maintaining an unwavering commitment to safety and integrity. What sets us apart is our core group of construction employees, steel erecting crew, in-house design team and millwork shop ensuring every project is delivered on time, within budget, and beyond expectations. It has been our long-standing mission to work together in visualizing our customers’ needs in order to give them the best value for the dollar.

Employee Relations

Many of our employees are found through word-of-mouth recommendations. Employees are retained in a deliberate manner at our company; we have a program that incentivizes solid performance during the year and rewards good work at the end of each fiscal year. Not only do employees work toward their own success, but the success of the company as a whole.

Because the health of our employees matters, we provide employees with dental, vision, and medical insurance coverage through the Merit Contractors Association.

Additionally, we offer and encourage apprenticeships for our carpenters and iron workers. If you are interested in joining the team at Bexson, we invite you to contact us for additional information.

Award-Winning Designs

Our team has won numerous design awards through American Buildings Company’s annual “Excellence in Design” competition. As a North American-wide event, we are proud to be honoured as one of the best steel building designers. To view our award-winning designs, please see our project gallery.
